Advocacy

2026 is the midpoint of the federal 4-year election cycle.  Mid-term elections are a critical point in time to evaluate where our country and state are at in implementing policies and funding priorities that Voters care about.  

All the state house, US Congressional, state governor, and one US Senator seats are open for election this year.  Michigan is a HOT place for elections nationally. 

As a nonprofit, UWSCMI is not allowed to endorse candidates.  But it is our civic duty as advocates for people who live below the ALICE threshold, to invite you to VOTE during the Primary election on August 4th.  

Michigan primaries are partisan so folks must request a party, ie. Democratic or Republican primary ballot.   

Voters should do their homework.  You can look up your personal ballot and information about your polling place, absentee ballots, and early voting at
